What if you spent 80% of your money on food?

With Thanksgiving nearing, we thought it would be interesting to see how much food is consumed around the world.

Earlier this year, the Food Service Warehouse released an interactive infographic that highlights how many calories are consumed by citizens of 40 different countries and what percent of income is spent on food. The results are striking--Americans spend only 6.9% on food consumption and parts of Africa spend up to 80%. Clearly, the amount and cost of food in America is something to be thankful for.

You can check out the infographic at Food Service Warehouse.

From the depth of my soul I woul like to thank You all for the great endeavor to save children of Africa from hunger. I was born and raised there I know what it takes to survive all this, honestly your helping hand is the best any child would wish for. A lady that works at U.I.C reffered me to this blog. I will spread the word through any social networks to the best of my ability. One Love.

We have had a lot of changes in the last 6 months, and I don't believe we ever responded to this, Joyful and Blaq. Thank you for your comments. Where were you born, Blaq? Our prayer is that Awake and Alive not only helps people survive, BUT also helps them to move beyond survival to actually helping them THRIVE. It is a tall order, but with the help of God and others, we believe it is possible!
